A recruiter reached out to my email and wanted to schedule a phone call. We talked about my background, my works, and spent much time on why I wanted to be at Coursera. It's very clear culture fit is a very big factor for them!
After a few days, I was asked to come on site and meet with various directors and designers. The entire process is very open ended, leaving you to drive the conversation and presentation. However, be prepared to layout strong arguments, clearly articulate your design decisions, and refute suggestions. Also, I felt that that one of the interviewers could tell what my design strengths were–immediately. This person then asked me to reframe the rest of my presentation on what he thought could be my weakness. Be PREPARED.
The process was pretty intense, but it never felt like a mind game. On top of that, it's clear everyone loves the company for obvious reasons. It's an inspiring place!
