Walk in group interview, conducted in store. Kinda awkward, there were at least 5 other people in the group. Everyone tried to get a word in and tried to one up each other.

Question 1
They asked pretty general questions, customer service related and why we were interested in retail
I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Crate and Barrel (Austin, TX)
Interview
Very paper driven process which is kind of weird in 2014. Turned in paper application to physical location. Met with sales manager who interviewed from very standard question set. I could have been applying for ANY customer service job they were so generic. When entering the store I always look to see if employees are smiling/happy or look haggard/angry/upset. Luckily most everyone at this store gets along and are happy people regardless of what's going on. Very low stress.

Question 1
There was nothing crazy or unexpected from interview. Really was text book customer service questions. I thought they were really boring and anyone could have memorized what to answer.
Super quick, easy and chill. The interviewer was a bit late, but once we got started, they were very quick to ask questions. The interview took place on a couch in front of the store.
I applied online. I interviewed at Crate and Barrel
Interview
I found the interview process to be friendly & conversational and human resources asked pertinent questions related to past experience. The interview is a good opportunity to show your personality
