I applied online. I interviewed at Creativity Australia (South Melbourne) in Jan 2018
Interview
The initial phone interview was an ambush. The CEO/Founder called personally, because she basically makes all the hiring decisions, but did not have the courtesy to schedule the conversation in advance, so I was caught completely off guard. Despite that, I was invited for an in-person interview and eventually got the job. The job turned out to be much like the interview process, however: unnerving and uncomfortable, and subject to the erratic whims and absurd micromanaging of the CEO/Founder. I lasted 5 weeks in this awful work environment, during which, her toxic personality followed me home daily and poisoned my home and family life.

Question 1
First, they sat me down at a computer and gave me two tasks. One was to create a social media post, complete with graphic/photo and appropriate hashtags, and the second was to format and edit a letter from the CEO/Founder that was deliberately riddled with about 100 errors: spelling, punctuation, formatting, capitalisation, etc. Absurdly, they gave me 10 minutes to create both, and then returned after only 5 minutes, hovering over my shoulder and asking when I'd be finished. I suppose they wanted to see how quickly and accurately I could work under pressure, but the message it actually sent was that speed in more important than quality.
Thanks for the review - we are sorry it didn't work out. Sometimes despite best efforts some parties are best to part ways. All the best with your next move.
