Applied online, called by HR team to arrange an hour-long online interview. No outline of the process (not sure if there would have been a second interview for example), no advance questions. Interviewers were 5 minutes late to join the meeting (no acknowledgement or apology) which isn't great especially when online, as this can make the interviewee quite anxious (have I got the wrong link, time etc). No context of the role i.e. no overview of department, programme etc.
Questions were fairly standard, no reference to application form so felt impersonal. No follow up questions on any answers, so again didn't feel personal: more like test rather than a conversation aimed at exploring experience. Outcome was conveyed by email HR rather than phone call by hiring manager - again, impersonal. I asked for feedback but this was a bit opaque (I had a better understanding of why I didn't get the role than the feedback conveyed. There was also a reference to a question that wasn't asked, or at least definitely not asked in the way that they seemed to want an answer). It is difficult online, but interviewers came across as detached and unfriendly.
