Interview
They contacted me via email first and we arranged a interview. It went very well. I was not selected at the end but the meeting was very good and they were very open to questions.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DASI Solutions
Interview
Initial phone call with HR (great conversation, easy to talk to). After personality assessment (typical for any sales job), conversation with Business Development Manager (open to questions, great conversation) asking questions about sales philosophy, sales experience, industry knowledge, and explanation of role. 3rd conversation with COO (best conversation, good questions, spoke to company culture) with more in-depth sales conversation and a revelation that they have essentially done away with commission based selling and gone to flat salary and potential for team bonuses only. Anyone interviewing for a sales position should be aware of this, as it does away with the traditional base + commissions/bonuses most sales professionals are accustomed to. I felt comfortable with both the company and the role and was ready to accept the offer until meeting the CEO. I agreed to a "meet and greet" in-person with him, which sounded more casual than an interview although I am aware that until papers are signed, nothing is finalized. I was there for 2.5 hours (until 8:30pm) answering questions about my resume and experience. CEO stated that he didn't trust sales people (the position I was interviewing for) which is why he switched to the "no commissions" model. CEO also made inappropriate comments throughout, perhaps in an attempt to make a joke, but they were inappropriate nonetheless. One example: a male CEO saying (2x) "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" to a female applicant at 8pm in a dark and empty office park -- even if meant as a joke and in reference to my personality assessment results -- has no place in an interview. I doubt he would have said such a thing to a male applicant. I shared my concerns with HR (the time and location, the amount of time given the empty office, the inappropriate comments, etc) and was told that they are a small family-owned business, "what you see is what you get" with the CEO, and that this casual culture and it's "jokes" is what I could expect. In the end, we both agreed it wasn't a good fit for either of us.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DASI Solutions (Pontiac, MI)
Interview
After completion of the application there was a phone interview with HR. She then sent an assessment for me to complete. Once that was completed I was asked to come into the office for a personal interview with herself and one of the owners. It was only a few days after that when I was offered the position. One which I was excited to accept.
