Received an interview request to come onsite. Arrived a bit early, no issues. Office was very nice. I was asked to summarize my experience, so I did. I was not asked another question after this. My interviewers proceeded to just tell me about what the role entails (lots of hosting, philanthropy, keeping office organized and clean), then proceeded to reminisce between the two of them for the remainder of the hour. The company does a lot of different coordination for various philanthropic projects and each office differs in what they do. Sounded like a nice place to work for those hired, but again, no further questions to delve more into my experience or how I would handle situations. The conversation happening around me devolved into how nice the team was because someone had their purse stolen the day before an international trip by a random person who got into the building. I tried to engage at various points, but it ended up being awkward. They then offered to give me a tour, one person bailed immediately (just a simple, "nice to meet you"). The other showed me around until someone asked them a question about something financial, I stepped away to give them privacy, but I was quickly told where I could find the bathroom and was dismissed. Realizing the interview was done, I made my way back through the office to where I'd left my effects and saw myself out. I never heard from them again, despite a follow up thank you email. Outside of one company where the married co-CEO's shouted at each other in the hall outside the interview room, this is one of the single worst job interviews I've had in-person. It solely felt like you needed to be able to chat over seeking a skilled person. Add in the blatant security risk by letting an unknown person to wander through the office and by numerous unoccupied desks (some with unlocked laptop screens), it was a huge red flag.
