I applied and got called in to interview about a week later. Short and easy just asked about general knowledge of camping, fishing and hunting and if you had any knowledge of other depts.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Augusta, GA) in Apr 2013
Interview
Once you fill out the application online they call you in for a first interview. If they like you they call you in for a second interview. If they like you they will offer you a position regardless of your knowledge, skills, or experience. Over the last 2 years they seem to hire who ever walks through the door. It shows in the overall customer satisfaction.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Savannah, GA) in Aug 2018
Interview
It was a two step interview with two very likable guys. They were very welcoming, casual, and honest. You could tell they were not trying to make the position better than it was and wanted they really focused on getting to know me and identifying if I would be in the area for a while. It did take around 2 months for me to get a callback for the first interview.

Interview
I applied online and got a call back in about a week and a half.
When I came in, I met with the store manager for about 20 minutes, and scheduled a time to come in and interview with the assistant manager. I came in for the second interview and they offered me a job. They had to run a background check because I would be working in the Lodge Department and then after all that went through, I came in for orientation and training.
