I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at DNB (London, England) in Feb 2019
Interview
The process was a bizarre one. I initially interviewed with DNB for a position at their London Office. After a positive interview, I went away impressed with the company and the role. However a week later I received news from the external recruiter that DNB had 'changed their hiring process' and that I would need to come back to the office the following week at 8.30am to attend an informal candidate breakfast along with other candidates who had not previously been interviewed. (Out of those originally interviewed, I am told that I was the only one invited back). Despite the breakfast being 'unassessed' successful candidates would be chosen from the breakfast to attend first round interviews (the interview I had previously completed!) As I live over 3 hours away from their offices, I had to spend vast amounts on rail fares, accommodation and time off work in order to attend. My interview was then compared against those who as a result of the breakfast had a far greater understanding of the role, and an in depth knowledge of the company. I feel I was disadvantaged compared to the other candidates when DNB moved the goalposts and left disappointed that I lost the opportunity to take up an interesting role in a discipline I am passionate about.
