4 rounds of interviews that span for about a month. First is the HR initial screening then the next is interview with the hiring manager + head of house for the Manila office. If you pass that you go to 2 rounds of technical interview. I think this actually depends on the role? I was told initially that there would only be one technical interview with the offshore counterparts. Pleasant interview process actually. Interviewers asked relevant questions regarding the role and are very easy to talk to.
Overall rating this as a negative experience though due to the recruiter. Initially applied for a Senior Java Developer role but my application was sent to a higher role instead. She did ask before doing so but I only agreed since she said it would have the same tech stack/similar jd. Also, I assumed they would consider my application for the initial role if ever I wasn't successful. But, that wasn't the case. I cleared the first rounds of interview. I was then asked to do another technical round which involved questions on a different set of tech stack that unfortunately I didn't have any experience with. This wasn't brought up during my application.
After not being successful on the final interview, the recruiter mentioned that she would look for another position within the company if I'm interested. She only got back to me recently. A month has already passed and my interest in the company died down. I guess it was frustrating since a colleague of hers reached out as well regarding the initial position I applied for (meaning the role is still open). I've told her that there's already a recruiter handling my applications.
Just a note to the recruiters: Please be transparent on the actual status of the application.
For the other applicants: If ever you were asked as well if you want to try for a higher role, asked for the job description again just to be sure.
