I applied online at the DaVita website and, within about a week, I received an e-mail from a recruiter saying I would be getting a call for a telephone interview. This was pretty straight ahead and consisted of questions about goals, experience, etc. I had to cancel my initial interview due to a personal matter but rescheduled it within about a week. I met with a facility administrator who happened to be a social worker (one good sign, I thought, since upper management positions in the medical field tend not to be open to anyone who is not a nurse or an MD). The person I met with was friendly, welcoming, good sense of humor and yet good about focusing on my background, my reasons for leaving my current position and how would I feel about doing more case management than direct counseling (which was my former position). She let me know a few times that I seemed like a good fit and said I would "Definitely" be hearing from them.
Within a week, I had an e-mail suggesting a second interview time with my local clinic (I interviewed somewhere different) and I met with the facility administrator, someone who immediately put me at ease, seemed very comfortable with me (and with herself which is always refreshing). She pretty much told me she was told by my first interviewer that I was "a great choice" so I didn't have to work hard to sell myself! I had a job offer by e-mail the next day and, 24 hours later, I accepted the position.
