I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Datometry
Interview
I was Interviewed over the summer of 2019. There were many steps in the hiring process.
1 take-home coding exercise
2 phone interviews (coding, behavioral)
6 face-to-face interviews (2 coding, 2 design, 2 behavioral)
1 presentation of past work.
Everyone I met or talked to was nice friendly. The overall experience was positive.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Datometry (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2018
Interview
I applied to Datometry after seeing their job announcement on the DBWorld mailing list. I liked the fact that their product solves a difficult problem - migrating the backend database without changing user code. There was an initial phone interview, followed by one hour take-home coding exercise. We moved quickly to the onsite round. The questions asked at Datometry gradually increased in difficulty as they added cases like memory limits, string encoding schemes, etc. A short presentation is expected from PhD candidates. Overall, every one I met was genuinely nice and smart.
