      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Daxwell (Houston, TX) in Mar 2016

      Interview

On 3/20/16 I applied online. Two days later I received an email informing me that an interview had been scheduled for 3/31/16. When I arrived to the location, I had to follow a maze-like path that led to a locked door with a peephole. Knocking on the door, I had to wait a few moments before someone answered. I was then led to a conference room that contained a table holding the company's various products. After a short to moderate wait, a woman entered the room and gave me a test to take. It was a multiple-page test that contained basic math and analytical thinking skills problems. It would have been easy to complete the test. However, the catch was that I was given only 5 minutes. No one is expected to complete the test. After the test, I was interviewed by the personable Mr Z. Despite my initial reservations due to the locked door with the peephole and the test, the interview went rather well -- surprisingly well. As Mr Z was explaining the position and talking about the company, he asked me if I would be interested in considering working in corporate, and suggested another position for me. Of course I would! With that Mr Z informed me that there was someone he wanted me to talk to, and then left the room to find that person. After about 5 minutes, he came back alone, apologizing and saying that person was tied up at a meeting. Mr Z then advised that I go on the company's career page and create a candidate profile. He mentioned that there was going to be a meeting the following week where people were going to be looking at candidates online. Thus, by creating the candidate profile, the company would be able to find me. Never have I had such a positive interview before, where the interviewer showed extreme interest in me! I did as Mr Z advised, and created an online candidate profile. The following day, I sent Mr Z an email, thanking him for taking the time to talk to me, and I reiterated my interest in wanted to be part of the team. Two weeks passed without word back. So on 4/17/16 I sent Mr Z a second email. Still no response. Because of the lack of response, I decided to call on 4/29/16. I first tried the company's number that was printed on the business card that Mr Z gave me. But when I received a recording saying for me to leave a message and that my call would be directed to the appropriate party, I hung up as I felt that whatever message I was going to leave was going to wind up in the same black hole that socks go when they get washed. Thus, my next call went to Mr Z's cellphone, where I wound up having to leave a voicemail. And still no response back. Meanwhile, just before writing this, I went on Daxwell's career page. And guess what? The same "NEW" jobs that were on their career page 2 1/2 months ago are still there!
