Deel asks for the typical take home task. They give you a list of requirements and then a vague description that going above and beyond what they ask will be seen as positive (but not required). This last part is a complete lie as only solving what is asked will net you a rejection with an explanation that you did not do additional work to demonstrate your seniority. They expect you to waste your time.

Question 1
Take home task asking to build an API with certain endpoints. Additional work other than API is supposedly optional but in reality it is not. Waste as much time on this as possible if you wish to work for them and even them an offer is not guaranteed. They will not value your time.
1 technical interview, then another interview with the team lead, one cultural fit interview with senior management. There was no leetcode at all but conversations and direct questions. Overall interviewee friendly
I applied online. I interviewed at Deel in Feb 2026
Interview
The interviewer showed up 5 minutes late and had the most arrogant attitude I have ever experienced in a hiring process. Big red flag. Constantly interrupting me over small details. Demeaning attitude, not a single smile. It's like they wanted me to fail and feel under pressure. It's okay to discuss different views on architecture. But nitpicking the syntax and tiny details was simply not helpful to anyone. If that's the culture, I dodged a bullet.
