This was one of the worst interview experiences I’ve had.
I joined the interview on time, fully prepared and waiting to be let into the call. At one minute past the scheduled start time, I received a standard rejection email saying Degreed had decided to move forward with other candidates.
There was no advance cancellation, no personal message, and no apology. Leaving a candidate sitting on a live interview call only to send an automated rejection after the start time is disrespectful and shows a lack of basic professionalism.
I understand companies make decisions and not every application progresses, but candidates invest real time and effort preparing. The minimum expectation is timely communication and the courtesy not to let someone sit waiting for an interview that is clearly no longer happening.
Very disappointing candidate experience.
