It was an extremely unprofessional process which began in June 2024. The Senior VP kept subjecting me to more and more rounds of interviews, 7 in all including a 1 on 1 lunch interview, and then ghosted me for a three weeks. They then decided they wanted a previously undisclosed aptitude test, but they hadn't developed it yet and wanted me to wait for them to develop it from scratch. Then after ghosting me another two weeks, they decided they didn't want to fill the position anymore, The experience was so toxic that the HR rep left the company shortly thereafter.
I applied online. I interviewed at Delek US in Jan 2026
Interview
The process consisted of an HR screening call followed by a hiring manager interview. Each conversation lasted approximately 30–45 minutes.
The HR screening focused primarily on my background, career progression, and overall fit for the organization. Questions included “Walk me through your background,” reasons for exploring new opportunities, and alignment with the role’s requirements. Compensation expectations and logistical details were also discussed.
The hiring manager call went deeper into my professional experience and technical competencies. The discussion centered on how my background aligned with the team’s needs, examples of leadership, and how I approach problem-solving in a finance environment. It was conversational but substantive, and they were clearly assessing both technical capability and cultural fit.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Delek US (Brentwood, TN)
Interview
The interview process was hefty, and I was hired in 2021 under heavy COVID restrictions. I believe my role might have been newly created and that extended the process to ensure all leadership was on board with the need of this position to support the business. I was happy it all worked out, and I was selected for the role.
