Question 1
Path planning problem like single travelling salesman problem
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Dexterity (CA) in Feb 2022
Interview
Was interrupted several times during the interview. Overtly nice, but their tone was not genuine and almost mean. Did not honestly respect or value me. They even expressed disdain for existing employees -- “It’s time to bring in real product managers now.” Poor pitch to get me to join. They worshiped the resumes of the executives … which at the core struck a tone of greed for money, fame, and power. A personalized pitch that is a great place to work would have been better.
Interviews were too short. Too stingy with their time turns out to a bad candidate experience. 45 min or even 1 hour is industry standard. Microphone setup problems even 3 years into COVID. Unclear interview process. Sequential 1:1 gated interviews meant one bad day or one bad interviewer screws you up. Not as fair as an interview panel which balances everyone on the panel equally.
Heavy-handed focus on working in-person. But only offering a below-market salary for the Bay Area and no relocation. An “in-person collaboration culture” is just a codeword for saying “I am afraid of remote work, and so are our investors.” Doesn't honestly consider whether employees can actually do the job remotely.
Awesome product. Great opportunity. Crappy process. Rude people.
