A recruiter reached out to me about this position and we had a brief but great talk and he said I'd be a great fit and would get back to me shortly.
Then everything went sideways. I heard nothing for weeks. I sent follow-up emails that were ignored. I called the office 3 times and left messages for the recruiter, until I finally received an email response that was very clearly a pre-formatted response sent to other people noting how they are scaling back the sales department and "currently not adding any new sales reps to the team."
This response had nothing to do with the Content Coordinator position I interviewed for. I later went on LinkedIn and found out someone had already had that job a few months prior to my interview and is still there...so why was I even interviewing for it?
Overall, between getting ignored, the irrelevant copy and pasted response email, and the interview being for a job that wasn't even available, I found the level of disrespect and incompetence to be extraordinarily high. It's a real shame recruiters do this sometimes.
