      Interview

Racism and discrimination. Despite my outstanding expertise and a comprehensive CV detailing my experience and background, I was rejected. When your name sounds unfamiliar, strange, different and out of the ordinary, it becomes difficult to get a job interview and even impossible to be hired at Distech Controls. When it comes to the senior engineer (Software developer senior (React) - Req ID: 9472) position, the engineering manager's perspective diverges from the HR's, or the senior recruiter, making it challenging for someone with an unfamiliar name to be considered. In other words, it's hard and intolerable for the manager to hire someone with an unfamiliar name, particularly for a senior position. After reviewing your company on LinkedIn, I realized your company is made for white. It became clear that diversity and inclusion are merely slogans for you!!!! I will not change my name to get hired at Distech Controls, but I will fight this racist and discriminatory behaviour, particularly the individuals perpetuating it. It would help you if you Googled my name's meaning before judging me to figure out how brave I am. If you want more details, you should ask your engineering manager.
