Had two interviews: one with HR and one with the person the position reported to. Both interviews were pleasant, the atmosphere congenial. HR person very directly brought up salary, which I appreciated, and asked pointed questions about my work history. The second was more of a conversation about the company and the role. I appreciated the ability to discuss the project in detail, rather than answer a bunch of canned questions.
Though I didn't say so in the second interview, my main concern about the position was the salary, which was roughly 15-20% below similar positions at other companies. Apart from my own needs, I wondered about being able to attract top development talent for the project, if necessary.
Otherwise, I had a few reservations about their culture, but overall came away with a positive impression. I did not receive an offer; was told they decided to promote from within.
