The application had to be done online. Upon visiting the assessment centre in London, I had to sit 3 assessments: numerical (45mins), verbal reasoning (45mins), and written (20mins). The numerical and verbal tests were all to be answered on paper. The maths test was more of GCSE type, with nothing really relevant to the actual profession or field of accounting. The verbal reasoning tests involved a TFC type of question booklet. The actual written assessment was a letter to a client inviting them for a meeting to discuss payroll services. The person conducting the assessment herself was welcoming, however the other staff members didn’t seem to acknowledge our presence ( me and the other candidate present in the reception) as in say good afternoon or anything. After the completion of the assessments, the lady chose to speak with us individually. I didn’t get to proceed to the next stage of the interview, and was just turned down. I was told the assessments were designed by the partners and i didn’t make it through. However, i feel this was unfairly done as the lady had arrived to this decision right after i had finished my last assessment, which tells me that they obviously they couldn’t have judged me fairly as they hadn’t checked all my assessments to give a proper and fair result. I felt this was a bit of a waste of time and done unjustly. Overall, the experience was ok. They definitely didn’t seem as warming as they speak about themselves in their website.
