Straight forward and standard interview process for data scientist: 1) Call with the hiring manager to talk about my experience and to understand the role. 2) Technical interview. Presentation of results from the take-home task. The task required some data exploration and building a machine learning model. 30 min presentation during the interview and the interviewers asked follow-up questions.

I applied online and got an phone call from recruiter a month later. She Scheduled a phone interview with the hiring manager afterwards. The interviewer first introduced himself and gave a bit of background of his team and the position's responsibilities. Then he went on asking me some questions about data analytics, classifiers and statistical concepts. Two weeks afterward, I had an onsite interview with a panel of three. It took more than 1 hour. I supposed to present a task that given to me. At the beginning of the interview, hiring manager walked through his team and then we had some technical questions. Most of the questions were about binary and multi-class classifiers specially SVM and GLM/GLMM, NLP following few questions and tests related to programming skills. He explained all the question in a very clear way even I kept asking questions and we ran out of time, he was still doing his best to explain to me the questions. Overall, they explained all the responsibilities and opportunities of the role. All people in selection panel were very professional and friendly.
