DoorDash found me on LinkedIn and reached out, which might’ve been flattering if the process hadn’t been such a circus. The HR call with Javier lasted 20 minutes and started with him awkwardly tiptoeing around the low salary, then claiming the role was “remote-ish” all while describing a hybrid setup requiring three days in the NYC office.. laughably misleading.
He outlined the next steps of the interview process saying there's only “three rounds” and then proceeds to list the rounds which were obviously over 3 rounds. After this, he sent over the case study.. I spent hours on it and only to be rejected the next day. A rejection for a job I never even applied for.
Overall, ... chaotic, misleading, and toxic. They reach out to candidates proactively, string them along with confusing expectations, and then reject them immediately after forcing them to do hours of work. A total waste of time and energy.
