I applied to LinkedIn for their WordPress position and received an email inviting me to the first screening interview. The interview was pleasant, and I answered all the questions confidently. After that, I was asked to complete a skill assessment, which I aced. I then received another email inviting me to a second screening interview.
During this second interview where things fell apart, the interviewer explained the scope of the project and mentioned the required tech stack, which included Laravel and Vue.jsâtechnologies I'm not experienced with. I had honestly mentioned in the first interview that I didn't have experience with Laravel and Vue.js but was willing to learn if given the opportunity and that I am an expert WordPress developer. However, after the second interview, I received an email informing me that I had been rejected.
It turns out they were actually seeking a developer experienced in Laravel and Vue.js, not a WordPress developer. This mix-up made the experience quite frustrating, as I wouldn't have gone through the process if the requirements had been clear from the beginning.
