After submitting an online application for several administrative jobs advertised by the Dubin Group and following this up with a phone call and email to Elizabeth Dratch, I was contacted by Liz to set up a personal interview at Dubin's office in Bala Cynwyd. Liz quickly honed in on the key skills and responsibilities that enabled me to succeed in recent jobs and to enjoy my work with those companies. Thanks to her down to earth and friendly manner, I also felt comfortable discussing professional and personal qualities that I should continue to try to improve.
Liz was open and straightforward about discussing pros and cons of agreeing to the various forms of employment most staffing companies offer: temp to hire, contract to hire and direct hire alternatives. She was somewhat diffuse, though, in explaining the Dubin Group's policy on offering employment opportunities to people who are still on payroll for another staffing company, even if the job seeker is not currently on assignment with that company. My experience has been that this is a dilemma for many job hunters as well.as temp firms.
