Spoke to the recruiter in the first stages and they we genuianlly easy to talk to and answer questions. My experience and fit were spot on so I was pleased to receive an invite to interview with the hiring manager. Again they were personable and gave great overview about the company and role. My examples shared seemed to fit well and I waited to hear back. They did! after a few days I had a final interview with the site leaders that I would support in this role. They were nice enough but said they didnt have any questions for me just wanted to know if I had questions. That was odd? I assumed they had not presented many interviews so i asked about 9 questions just to make the conversation worth while. Ironically one of them said "they didnt have any other interviews scheduled" so I should hear back soon. A whole week went by. I didn't get any updates from this recruiter that i valued and had to ask multiple times. It was clear I was being forgotten. You would think if someone makes it to the final round they would be a worthy contact to keep up to date. Not at E2 Optics. Finally I got an update, she said they were still deciding and "it sounds like they would know by Monday" That phrase made me think they were just busy or preparing. But I instead received a rejection email. Generic as they normally come. So confusing.......I was surprised because the gentlemen in that final interview said they didnt have any other candidates? Plus, they didn't even ask me any questions in that conversation to actually get a sense of who I am and how I work in the HR field. It was like the decision was made before I even got the final interview invite. Pretty frustrating. The hiring manager was out of the conversation the whole time as well. Personally, I assume they had an internal candidate they were likely going to select/ promote but for policy sake they had to run a full recruiting cycle to be compliant. Waste of everyone's time! I asked for feedback and was ghosted.
