Initial communication is good though the wrong postcode was given on the joining instructions and candidates were sent to the wrong location as a result.
Interview consisted of introductions and an icebreaker activity, followed by a spectacularly pointless and irrelevant group task (building a Lego tower... seriously?) Gimmicky rubbish. It means that quieter people with actual experience and knowledge are rubbished in favour of the people that shout loudest.
Then followed a relevant written exercise relating to providing passenger information during disruption. Next was another group exercise in which the group was asked to prioritise a list of tasks that needed to be completed in a short time. This was actually job related so is a bit more reasonable than the Lego nonsense, but still, it seems EMT favours empty vessels that make the most noise.
Finally a 'speed interview' in which three panelists asked a question each that you have to answer before the bell rings. These were job-relevant questions, although an odd one about the best customer service you've ever had seemed tangential.
Candidates are then given lunch whilst the panellists decide who gets to partake in an actual interview.
