I applied for all advisor positions from trade schools, to bachelor advising. This is a mix of 3 interviews. First round is usually a phone call to verify your background against your resume and get a feel for you as a person. The second round is either a face-to-face or remote teams interview, 3rd round (bachelor's advising), is face-to-face with the Department Head, and the Vice President. All of my interviews went outstanding, praise, and "you have the job" emails. This is a warning about selection after. It's about a 3 week process to get hired, the hiring manager's recommendations for candidates go to HR, headed by Darla Ferguson; you cannot have a spot on your record, criminal, traffic, academic, or otherwise, you will be denied by her. She also doesn't respond to emails if you ask for specifics of why you were disqualified. The communication between interviewing and selection is dismal.
