      Hydraulic Sales Development Program Interview

      7 Mar 2016
      Anonymous employee

      Accepted offer
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Eaton (Gainesville, FL) in Oct 2014

      Interview

Spoke to a couple of Eaton representatives about getting a position in the Sales Development Program for Electrical Engineering. Unfortunately, only the representative for Hydraulics was there, so I had to interview with him. He was really friendly and easy to have a conversation with, and told me he'd get me an in person interview later that week. The interview mostly consisted of the usual behavioral questions, no technical questions, but they like you to use examples from different experiences such as school, work, and other internships. He said he would refer me to the person in charge of electrical sales since he was strictly hydraulic, but of course I never heard back from them. Should have just stuck with hydraulic and moved on from there.

      Answer question
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Eaton (Minneapolis, MN) in Jan 2016

      Interview

I interviewed for the Hydraulic Sales Development Program at the hydraulic headquarters in Minneapolis First interview was a 30 minute or so phone interview about 3 months after I applied. Standard behavioral questions were asked. The second round was a 2 day on site visit. The first day was just a business casual dinner where you get to meet the higher ups and those in the program and ask questions and just get to know the people at the company. The second day was more intensive It consisted of 2 one on one interviews, a plant tour and giving a 10-15 minute sales presentation with time for questions. The interviews were all competency based questions so nothing too technical or difficult. Be very prepared on the presentation though, they will absolutely grill you with questions.
