I saw the job posting on LinkedIn. Clicking on Apply on LinkedIn led me to the Edward Jones career page where I started my application. All you had to do was upload a resume and answer some standard questions.
About a week later, I got an email that asked me to log into a platform to continue with the process. In this platform, I had to record 4 different videos of myself answering mostly general questions.
A week after that, I was contacted by HR (to me this was the first personal email from someone in the company) to set up a live video interview. The earliest availability for the interviewers was the following week.
The live video interview was fair. If you are an experienced iOS Engineer, you should be able to answer all the questions. Nothing was tricky. It seemed like it went well.
After a couple days, I emailed the only person who contacted me about the status of my application. I heard nothing. On the Edward Jones career portal, I can see that my status is still "Interview". I emailed a week later and was told that she wasn't my recruiter and that she will relay my message. (So my recruiter is someone that never called or sent me an email...). A few minutes later, I received a call from "my recruiter" who told me that the interviewers decided to go along with other candidates who have more experience in DevOps and building enterprise applications.
If I was already disqualified for the position, it would be great to at least be emailed that I am no longer being considered. It would also be helpful if the job description noted that the job requires experience in DevOps. As far as experience in enterprise applications.... isn't the concepts of designing, developing, and testing an app the same whether it is within a company or public facing?
