I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Electrification Coalition (New York, NY)
Interview
Scheduling was streamlined and while there was a change from one individual to another, they were communicative about the process. Changes were not made without 48 hours of notice. The interview started and ended on time, without delays or interruptions. Overall, the interview itself was not difficult from a technical perspective or from the type of questions asked, but rather, it was overly informal and lacked any direction or questions which allowed me to dig into my qualifications or experience that connected to the role. It was very open ended, with a feeling that as a candidate, I needed to guess what the interviewer wanted to know. I was prompted with: "Those are all the questions I have - is there anything you would like to ask or let us know?" I felt that I had to ask questions and offer insights in order to do so. It felt as though there were no opportunities to distinguish myself from the candidate pool effectively given the short period of time and freeflow agenda of the interview. More targeted questions would have facilitated the screening process a bit better and I would have liked to provide more background on my experiences. The interviewer was exceptionally professional and friendly, but the process itself did not feel as though it allowed me to truly offer the best of myself. I was not asked to participate in any interviews thereafter. I given the feedback that the candidate pool was vast and highly competitive, and thus they would not be moving forward with my candidacy.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interview was predominantly freeflow with very few direct questions about the role or my own qualifications. They took the form of: "What is your perspective on...?" The rest of the inquiries were clarifications about previous work.
I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Electrification Coalition in Nov 2022
Interview
Was invited to interview a week after applying. Interviewed with a former employee who they appear to contract with. Call was over zoom. Despite having several days advanced notice, my interview was conducted while she was driving her car. First red flag. She didn’t appear to take any interest in what I had to say and couldn’t answer my questions without a “you’ll find out more as the process moves along”. Was informed I should hear back about a second interview by early next week. I contacted her four times re: any information about a second interview but was met with radio silence. Finally assumed I hadn’t been selected and moved on. She got back to me after 14 weeks to let me know that I wasn’t selected. What a joke. Would highly recommend steering clear of this unprofessional organization.
