I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Employ (MA) (Toronto, ON) in Sept 2019
Interview
One of the most humane interview process from a tech company that I have ever had. They were very respectful of my time, and the technical screenings felt were more of collaborative process rather than testing my familiarity with some algorithm that you only ever use in University
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Write an algorithm to populate a 2d array in an interesting way (don't want to give it away)
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Employ (MA) (Toronto, ON) in May 2019
Interview
Lever has one of the best interviewing processes I've experienced. Even the technical screening was a collaborative process that more accurately reflects the day-to-day skills engineers really use. The process was actually what convinced me that this would be a great team to join. They were also very open to shifting their schedules around so that I could do the interviews remotely in another time zone.
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
Technical screening - Multiple sessions that were mostly around tree-based data structures and algorithms. It's feasible to answer these questions without "studying" first, however doing some basic refresher reading won't hurt. The screening is done interactively as a "pair programming" sessions with another engineer. They jump in if you are stuck or to suggest alternative approaches. Actually very enjoyable.
