I was escorted into a small conference room in a co-working space by a girl who was nice enough, and who had held the job before and was now interviewing for a replacement following a promotion.
She was explanatory enough and pleasant, but was interrupted by the CEO who walked into the meeting late and unceremoniously usurped the conversation. I would pointedly ask her questions about the position, she would begin to answer and he would interrupt her without so much as an apology and overtake the discussion, despite being in from the Bay Area and having very little on-the-ground knowledge about the position.
He asked highly technical questions that felt like a thinly veiled attempt to confuse and belittle me, rarely made eye contact and overall came across as dismissive and sexist despite operating a website dedicated to supporting women's health and wellness.
It became clear that he was much more interested in making money by any means possible and finding someone who was happy to drive an emotionless content engine so long as it fed his opulent lifestyle. They didn't call me in for a second interview, and I was very okay with that.
