I interviewed at Encore Community Services (New York, NY)
Interview
It was quick and communicative. The interviewer was very kind and thoughtful, and the interview was conducted in a relaxed environment. The rounds were quickly paced, and the interviewer was engaging. Overall, it was a good experience.

Tell me about yourself and how your work aligns with our mission
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Encore Community Services (New York, NY) in Jul 2024
Interview
The interview process was very inconvenient. It started with a standard remote phone screen with the hiring manager. This lasted about an hour and went very well. The second round was an in-person interview, with the hiring manager (yes, the same individual). The series of questions were very much the same and at times, I would be interrupted several times during my responses by the interviewer who would comment "yes, you told me that already" or "I remember we already spoke about this". Which was quite frustrating because the line of questioning was already addressed during our first meeting. To be frank, the travel time to the interview location was longer than the actual interview. Again, this was a second round interview, with the same interviewer who asked the same questions. Despite this, I remained professional and courteous, sending a thank you right after followed by two more follow-ups, none of which received a response. In the end, I realized I was being ghosted and moved on. While this is a non-profit, the specific role and the hiring manager is dependent on building and maintaining relationships and partnerships with other organizations. For them to lack the common decency to inform candidates if they are moving forward or not is very telling about how the organization operates and their management style.
