I applied online. I interviewed at Esri (Redlands, CA) in Feb 2020
Interview
I had multiple phone interviews. The first is a quick 15 min introductory interview with HR. After that, I had a 30min-1hr phone interview with a Senior Designer in the team. Then a 30min-1hr phone interview with another Senior Designer. Then finally, a phone interview with the hiring manager. Unfortunately, I did not pass the 4th phone interview & did not get an in-person interview.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself.
Why are you leaving your current job?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Esri
Interview
I went through several rounds of interviews where the recruiter was often unavailable, arrived late to a scheduled call, and didn’t clearly communicate expectations for each stage. I entered each round without any guidance and was even redirected mid-process to a different role they felt I was a better fit for. Despite spending many hours interviewing with multiple designers, from mid-level to senior, I never received an update. I ultimately had to reach out myself just to get a response.
First is HR phone screen for 30 minutes. Follow up with conversational interview with another senior designer/art director for 1hr. There should be more rounds of conversational interview after this. The person will ask you a lot of question about your past project. Why you want to work here. It's not a portfolio review! You just have to talk about it. What an ineffective process. About 10 minutes in with the senior designer/art director, I know I don't want the job. The vibe is just off. And the questions seems very stupid.
