I responded to a job posting I found online. I received a phone call from the CFO about 2 days later and we has a short conversaton describing the position. At the end of the conversation, I was invited to come in for an interview.
For the first interview I met with one of the sequencing technicians to determine my scientific skills, a scientist at the company and the CFO of the company. Aside from the quiz to access my scientific skills, these interviews were relatively informal, and conversational.
For the second interview, I met with the CFO and the CSO of the company. This interview was more formal with standard canned interview questions, e.g. tell me about yourself, where do I see myself in 5 years, what are your strengths and weaknesses, what is the biggest mistake you have made, etc. I was told I would receive a call in a few days.
At this point, things got frustrating. I followed up and was told twice that they were putting an offer together for me, but it never came. I think that their funding fell through and they decided not to hire anyone, but they strung me along for several weeks, and ultimately did not hire anyone to my knowledge.
