      Sales Rainmaker Interview

      11 Feb 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Columbus, OH
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Eventerprise (Columbus, OH) in Feb 2018

      Interview

I received a call for an introductory call that lasted about 15 minutes. The woman made it very clear that this position had a base and commission structure. She told me that the next interview would be a skype interview with someone else who would outline the base pay and opportunity for bonus as he discussed the sales position. That person told me that the sales position has a "target base pay." If anyone has been has been hoodwinked and had your time wasted by charlatans, that phrase means commission only. I emailed the first person (from the introductory call) that I was very disappointed by the scam, and I received 3 generic emails from her that said "I profusely apologize for any inconvenience. Our intentions were not to waste your time or mislead you. We do however, appreciate your time and concern, and will do everything in our power to improve upon your comments. We are resolving this internally as we speak to make sure we are 110% transparent in our process going forward. This was a miscommunication on our end, and our team sincerely apologizes. Kind regards, -- These scams waste interviewees time as we take time away from our current jobs for these meetings. Some people are not paid for lunch breaks and even use their lunch breaks for these calls. Eventerprise is shameful. Do not waste your time.

Dear applicant, We are truly sorry for the miscommunication from our side and take full ownership for the time and energy that it has cost you. As an early-stage company we are constantly learning and will makes sure to avoid a repeat of the unfortunate circumstances you were confronted with. Be assured that our integrity is of the utmost importance to us and none of our advertised positions are 'scams' as can be clearly seen from the reviews here on Glassdoor. It is also worth noting that 'target base pay' does not mean commission only as you erroneously stated - it simply means that the basic is linked to a cost of seat (reaching a cost of doing business threshold). It is a fairly common occurrence in target-driven sales environments. We hope that you can see past this very human hiccup and we wish you all the best in your endeavours.
