EveryDeveloper Technical Writing interview questions

Interview done via email mostly. EveryDeveloper asks you to write an outline for one of their current clients. I told them that I didn't want to do work without getting paid. We agreed on reducing the objectives and scope of the outline. I am very busy. I spent a decent amount of time putting together the outline exactly as we agreed. I asked to next discuss what pay I would be expecting when hired. EveryDeveloper did not respond with any offer of pay. EveryDeveloper closed the interview process by lying about the outline I did for their client.
