      Accounts Payable Manager Interview

      18 Jan 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Alameda, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Exelixis (Alameda, CA) in Jan 2020

      Interview

The first 3 women that I spoke to all had debbie downer syndrome about the role and bad mouthed the former manager. I didn't even ask for their feelings about the former manager but it became a venting session for them. Then each one of them did not encourage me about the role and said "you're not qualified for this role. You don't have Accounts Payable Manager specifically on your resume but since you have an Accounting Manager background, then we guess we will interview you." I told each of them why would they waste their precious time to interview me if they didn't think I'm qualified. I could sense their management style to be bullies, arrogance, discouraging, and back stabbers. This is the environment that I do not want to work in. By the time the 3rd manager insulted me, I let her know that I am no longer interested in the role and the interview will end right now as I walk out the door! The problem with these types of people is they think that candidates are so desperate for a job to have to kiss their derriere. I am not going to settle for a dysfunctional environment.
