Expeditors Software Developer In Test interview questions

I applied online and got called for a brief phone interview. The recruiter sounded very professional and respectful. I was asked to come for an on-site interview soon after. Just one day before the interview they sent me a programming project and gave a timeline to finish it off and send. It came as a surprise because I had other interviews and meetings to attend to and I didn't have time to fit it into my schedule. A panel of four interviewers from different teams interviewed me together. Though the title says software tester, they asked questions for a lead role like how would you bring the team together to do something, etc. I don't think that's in the job description and I didn't think it was fair to ask such questions. And most importantly, there were no programming questions, which disappointed me greatly. I was not impressed with the interviewers and neither were they.

First a phone call with 2 Supervisors . Then I was given a coding exercise and called for an onsite interview. Questions regarding QA, work experience, Agile and other situation questions were asked. They gave 10 mins for a QA exercise and asked for how would I go with the requirements analysis. Everything went well except the strange part is that there were no coding questions asked and the coding exercise hasn't been touched at all in the interview. One of the 4 interviewers seemed rude - in one of the instances when I asked him to repeat a question, he repeated the question word by word (sarcastically) as if I cannot understand English. They called 3 days later and mentioned that they decided to move in a different direction. I could not understand what was the reason. I requested them to give me a reason why the coding exercise wasn;t even covered in the interview. But they din;t reply to my multiple emails. They should probably get a HR department if they really want good people to come to their IT department.
