I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Express (Arlington, TX) in May 2009
Interview
I went into the store earlier in the week for an application and the manager enthusiastically gave me one. She even said she was considering asking me if I was looking for a job when I was shopping there. I turned in my application to a manager. He asked me if I was available in an hour to interview with him. I waited around the mall until my interview and I was interviewed with another person. A day after, he called me offering me the job and talked to me about the pay rate ($7.25 -- minimum wage at the time was $6.25) and I asked if I could get a higher pay rate as I was paid $10 at my old retail job. He said there wasn't any negotiation with that, but once raises come up yearly, I could ask.
I first applied online, and then I got an interview date and time, and then I went into the location for the interview. After that I just waited for a little bit of time and then I was sent an offer that I signed
Applied online, interviewed in person the next day. Interview was basically a vibe check. More important to apply during peak season (early spring or early fall) when they're hiring the most. Make sure you have availability on the weekend.
Easy and straight forward interview. They ask for your availability and if have fashion experience. Also, asks about previous sales and customer service experience. The job itself is not hard at all.
