I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) (Middleton, WI) in Oct 2014
Interview
X-ES hires a substantial number of coops to handle a large portion of their low to mid level tasks. They seem to hire all of the applicants that they feel are qualified to do the work. (I base this assumption on the email blasts I have gotten from my college's career services department multiple semesters about how X-ES is not getting enough applicants.)
I am a well qualified senior with past work experience, so the bulk of my interview time was spent on the engineering manager explaining the various areas I could work in and asking which of those I would find acceptable. This is probably not a representative experience for juniors and below.
X-ES sent me an offer a week later. They were my last interview out of ten I did this semester and they were the first to get back to me by almost two weeks. If you want to pursue other interview processes to their completion, you may want to delay interviewing with X-ES.

Interview
Got interview through engineering career fair. Brief interview with HR on-campus followed by longer, secondary interview on-site. For the technical portion, I was not unnecessarily tested, but they were definitely listening to my explanations very carefully.

Interview
The interview was relatively quick and straightforward. There were no trick questions asked and they just wanted a genuine sense of the kind of person and engineer I was. The entire thing lasted an hour maybe.
