I had a face to face interview, they paid for my transport and we discussed my previous experience and they showed me the curriculum and asked if I was confident in teaching it.
2. They then organized an assessment day where I was assessed alongside other candidates and tasked with preparing a lesson and plan according to their specified age group and aims and general aims and objectives.
I prepared a good lesson and having seen the other candidates un-engaging lessons and rationales I was confident in the odds of being hired.
3 They informed me that I had performed well and had a meeting to discuss salary. They made a shockingly low offer, which I refused and then an average offer, at the time I had already received a high offer from another school which was better than them in terms of renown and they agreed to match it resulting in apparently me being the highest-paid teacher there. How true that is I don't know, but as most of the other teachers were very money-focused they disclosed their salaries in conversation and it was a 3-4 thousand more than most.
