      Social Media Specialist Interview

      10 Sept 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Washington, DC
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Facetime Strategy (Washington, DC) in Sept 2012

      Interview

There was an initial phone interview, which was easy. The initial interviewer told me that I had the perfect background and experience for the position and I was then brought into the office to meet their CEO and to speak with other team members. The office was small and casual, but no one was friendly. In fact, it seemed like no one wanted to be there. It could be because their top executive doesn't appreciate their work. The CEO was 15 minutes late for my interview and was not paying attention during the meeting. In fact, his typing on his computer made it difficult for his California team member to hear over the speaker phone. I figured it was a test to see if I could handle the situation, but I was then left alone to speak with the CEO one-on-one where he continued to be rude and disrespectful. However, he did tell me that he liked what I had been saying and that he would like to bring me on for a month trial period (which was not specified on the job listing, rather $40-45k full time). His rationale was that my resume didn't show that I was qualified for the job and that his clients were very picky and that I had to prove myself. It seems that FaceTime thoroughly vets their staff, but it failed to prove to me why someone would want to work there.
