I applied online. I interviewed at Factual in Oct 2018
Interview
The first conversation was with the recruiter to go through resume. After that the recruiter sent me an online testing, which contained some single choice questions and two coding tests.
The second conversation was with a software engineer. The interview had two part: coding and brainstorm. The coding question was to merge two datasets into one to satisfy some requirements. And the brainstorm question was about how to validate the place data.
I applied through university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Factual (Century City, CA) in Mar 2019
Interview
Straightforward online coding test followed by 30-minute screening phone call, followed by one-hour technical phone interview, followed by half day of on-site interviews with relatively junior people. Interview questions were on things like tree traversal, text processing, web scraping and database joining.
