Process started with an initial call with the hiring manager (role fit, experience, and motivation). Then I was given a take-home task. The final interview was a walkthrough: first half focused on my approach, EDA, modelling choices, and results; second half covered business context, stakeholders, and how I’d deploy/productionise the solution (data pipelines, monitoring, and maintenance)
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Featurespace in Mar 2024
Interview
Was first sent an email from HR asking for my salary expectations for the role. After I gave them a numeric range, I was scheduled for a 30 min zoom call with the hiring manager and one of the data scientists on the team. They ask you to introduce yourself and talk about your projects and experience. They started the interview a few minutes late but ended it on time - it definitely felt like I was being rushed in the end and I wasn't given much time for questions. Was rejected after this round a week later because they felt I did not talk about my skillset enough.

walk us through your resume, explain how an ml project on your resume works
I took the first round interview for the data scientist position. There were some basic questions on the most common classification models as well as a few questions on motivation. The interview seemed to have gone well and I was surprised at the rejection.
