I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at FirstPort (Luton, East of England, England) in Jul 2024
Interview
I applied for the role after seeing it advertised on LinkedIn. Salary was listed as 'competitive' and I provided my expectations in line with my previous salary and other, similar, roles I have been interviewing for.
I received a call from the TA team a couple of days later saying that they loved my CV and that I was a really strong candidate, but the maximum they could pay was £15k below my expectations and asked if I would like to proceed with my application. After some careful deliberation I said that I would be willing to proceed on that basis.
A few days later I had an informal interview with the hiring manager via MS Teams, after which I was invited for an in-person competency based interview the following week, which I felt had gone really well.
I received an email rejection today, with the only feedback provided being that I didn't have the level of senior management experience they were looking for.
This is very frustrating as this would have been evident from the outset from my CV, and further from the initial informal interview - it just feels as if everyone's time has been wasted.
I wish the company and the team all the best, but this has not left me with a good impression of them as a potential employer.
As a final point, I would not usually leave a negative review in situations such as this, and wish no I'll will to the hiring team, but emails received from the TA team specifically request that a review of the process be left on Glassdoor, and this isy honest account. I do hope lessons can be learned to improve communication over requirements between TA and hiring managers to avoid other candidates going through a similar, frustrating, experience.

Interview
I applied via LinkedIn. Had an initial call from TA team, my salary expectations were higher than they offered, however I decided to proceed. Interview process was great and I was kept updated throughout. Initially had an informal Teams call with the hiring managers, which was then followed with the face to face interview. Final stage was MS interview with Customer Operations Director and Operations Director.
All interviews were pleasant and relaxed. I was kept updated throughout the whole process. TA team e-mails were informative, clear and covered everything I needed to know. Overall great experience.
