The process seemed very impersonal.
An external recruiter had reached out about the opportunity, and after discussion, she had submitted my resume. Flatiron reached out to schedule a video interview shortly afterwards. After scheduling the interview, I reached out again shortly before the date to clarify if it was an informational or technical interview. They informed me it was the latter.
The technical interview consisted of very briefly outlining the company structure, a very quick rundown of my experience, and then a coderpad exercise. I do admit that I should have been better prepared for the coding exercise.
Since this was the first point of contact with someone at Flatiron Health, I knew almost nothing about the position outside what was outlined in the job description after the interview. The person conducting the interview did mention that I could follow up with additional questions, but I didn't want to waste his time until a decision was made to move forward.
After a few days, I just got an automated rejection email.
