I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Fleet Space
Interview
Recruiter call, 2 person panel interview, take home, final round. Completed the take home and did not get through. Found it to be a poor experience. Instructions were vague, as was grading criteria, with the project being development of several ML models, numerous other questions, novel feature development, writing test functions and visualization classes among others. Felt way over the top for a 2 hour project without vibe coding the whole thing and significantly more time consuming than other take-homes I’ve previously worked on.
Recruiter reached out, discussed prior experience, higlighted that I had no recent FE experience, though was full stack/full-FE in the past.
Had the first discussion-based technical interview, and the feedback after that was simply that I didn't have enough FE experience, which was made clear.
Keep in mind I was reached out to for this role, I did not do a cold application for it - not sure why I was progressed despite this, burning the time of all parties involved.
Video call, met with multiple members from Melbourne and Adelaide where they were based. Both were a very hard read and seemed like they were quite interested but ultimately threw a curveball back to my recruiter.
