I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at FoodtoEat.com (New York, NY) in Aug 2015
Interview
I researched the company, some of the things I learned weren't so great; I went into the interview with mixed feelings. Interview was meant to take place at the office (through my own research I found out the office is an apartment). Twenty minutes before the interview time, the location was changed to a local café. Perhaps they did not want me to see the dingy apartment they work out of. I was interviewed by 2 people. One of the interviewers cursed an excessive amount. I understand it's a start up with a laid back atmosphere, but that just feels unprofessional, a bad first impression. He also kept checking his phone, a pet peeve of mine (it shows you don't respect my time). I inquired about the person who previously held the position I was interviewing for. The answer I received was quite somewhat disturbingly vague. It sounded like they were adding another manager to the company due to growth, but it also sounded like there may have been a quitting or firing.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They didn't bother with standard interview questions about weaknesses and strengths. They asked me about my resume.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at FoodtoEat.com (New York, NY) in May 2013
Interview
Typical of any interview process, met with CEO to interview me for the role to see if we would be a good fit for each other. She shared what her mission was for the business and the type of person she was looking for to help support the business.
I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at FoodtoEat.com (New York, NY) in May 2013
Interview
There was actually no technical interview at all. Just a bunch of requirements in objective C but no one had any idea about the technology or mobile design at all. They usually hired contractors to to setup infrastructure and most of the employees are very new to their product. No one actually has a clue about software development process at all. They have a pretty good product and possibly and an experienced person can achieve a lot in this company rather than a fresher.
