I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at FreeWave Technologies (Boulder, CO) in Feb 2014
Interview
Fairly quick interview process. Some confusion with the interviewers on what role they were actually interviewing. The HR staff was very helpful. Great deal of exposure to executives during the process. To their credit, they were very transparent with the issues and opportunities they were facing at the time. This included interviewing with candidates who provided very blunt descriptions of the current status of the company.

Interview
I'm local, but my first contact was via Skype. A little weird, but okay. Biggest complaint: the interviewer was sitting in a glass office (I discovered later) and kept watching things through the glass wall, being distracted, etc. A bit disconcerting...

Question 1
Which of the 10 core values strikes you as most important? (can't choose #10 Have Fun!)
Met with Kim Niederman, who was on and off his cell phone throughout the interview. Very unprofessional in my mind. If you schedule an interview with a candidate, you should probably make arrangements for an undisturbed session. People who interview take it seriously; you should too. I was immediately put off by this.

Question 1
What did you think of the last manager you worked for?
Thank you for taking the time to post on Glassdoor. Please know that I, Kim Niederman, have been the CEO for several public and private companies during my career. One of the things that I have learned is that people are the most important asset for any company. As such, I actively participate in many interviews throughout the organization. I also make it a point to leave my cell phone behind when I am interviewing candidates. Given this, it is unusual that you had the experience that your post suggests. My focus during interviews is on the candidate and the value that they may be able to bring to the business.
